North American organization Team Solomid took to Twitter Monday to announce they’ll be stepping into battle royale phenomenon Apex Legends. TSM are looking for both professional players and content creators and applications are now open.
TSM is the second organization to express direct interest in Respawn’s battle royale. This weekend, NRG Esports also expressed their interest in the game and there have been subtle hints by organizations such as North about their potential future involvement.
More orgs are sure to follow, as Apex Legends is currently the hottest title on the market, at least streaming-wise. On average, people watch 5.2M hours of Apex each day, and the game came close to breaking 7M hours in a single day on Feb. 11. The game continues to top the Twitch rankings and has pushed down even the likes of League of Legends and Fortnite. A 200.000 dollar TwitchRivals tournament is also to start today, Feb. 12, which will likely bring a new peak of popularity.
Apex Legends would be the 9th discipline that TSM covers. The org is involved in the other two main battle royale titles — PUBG and Fortnite — which makes the expansion to Apex Legends all the more natural.
